Mercantilete is the new mascot of the Círculo Mercantil e Industrial de Sevilla, designed by Nömad. Introduced at the traditional Sports Party, it aims to connect with younger members through a friendly and memorable character.

A mascot that captivates both young and old? Meet Mercantilete, the new mascot for the Círculo Mercantil e Industrial de Sevilla, who is now a part of the organization.

Mercantilete was presented to all members at the traditional Sports Party organized by the Círculo Mercantil, causing a great sensation among attendees and, above all, the youngest members. At Nömad, we were in charge of its design, a creative process that began with a paper sketch and culminated in the official presentation of the mascot to the members of the social entity.

How Mercantilete was created

The first step was to create an animated character to illustrate some drawing booklets with summery elements that children could color during their playtime between dips in the pool. The goal: to increase the bond between the little ones and the Mercantil through a recognizable, memorable, and, of course, child-friendly element.

After the initial sketches, the digital process began and little by little Mercantilete began to take shape and color. The result? A fun character, inspired by Pixar animations, that managed to win everyone's heart from minute one, including the team here at this agency!

The next step: letting Mercantilete come to life. And so it happened! The official presentation took place at the Sports Party, an event that the Círculo Mercantil organizes every year at its facilities. The gala, which was broadcast on Instagram and YouTube, recognized numerous athletes from the entity for being role models in values of effort, perseverance, and improvement.

Alongside the award winners, Mercantilete was the undisputed protagonist of the evening. The friendly mascot caused a sensation among the members and other guests at the gala, including the Mayor of Seville himself, José Luís Sanz, who, as you can see, did not hesitate to pose next to the new Círculo Mercantil mascot.

But those who undoubtedly enjoyed themselves with Mercantilete were the little ones, who played and had fun with the endearing mascot and even immortalized the moment in a selfie or two.

When is it recommended to work on a promotional mascot?

As we have seen, a promotional mascot can be a great ally to increase brand recognition and connection, but it also requires a well-thought-out strategy.

First, it is crucial that your mascot represents the essence of your business. It is not just a cute drawing; it is an ambassador for your brand that creates an emotional bond with your audience. Furthermore, it must be unique so you can stand out in an increasingly saturated market.

Now, when is the right time to take the step? If your brand already has strong recognition and you are looking to add a touch of personality, a promotional mascot could be the boost your brand needs. A clear example is the case of Fibrín, the mascot we designed for one of our clients, Charry, which managed to capture the brand's essence to perfection.
