Meta pauses its AI training project in Europe

At the end of May, Meta announced its intention to use Facebook and Instagram content to train its Artificial Intelligence models. In the following days, social media was flooded with complaints from users opposed to this measure, and many even rushed to create content to explain how to prevent the company from using their profile content to train its AI.
After several weeks under scrutiny, Meta has finally halted its Artificial Intelligence training project in Europe using Facebook and Instagram posts for failing to comply with EU regulations. While users celebrate this decision, Mark Zuckerberg's company believes that the news harms "European innovation, competition in AI development, and further delays the benefits of AI for people in Europe."
Meta has assured that it remains committed to developing AI responsibly and will continue to evaluate how to comply with European regulations while continuing to develop its AI technology.

Elon Musk Hides "Likes"

Although this measure seeks to increase privacy, allowing only users to see their own Likes, the decision has been controversial. However, according to data shared by Elon Musk himself, this decision has led to a massive increase in this metric.

As reported by several users, the ads appear over friends' and acquaintances' stories as a pop-up.

Once again, user opinions have not been favorable, considering this format too intrusive for a platform with fluid navigation like Instagram.

TikTok introduces AI-generated avatars

TikTok launches a new tool that allows users to create Artificial Intelligence-generated avatars. The platform will allow the generation of two types of digital avatars: on one hand, pre-designed avatars licensed for commercial use; and on the other, custom avatars, designed specifically to represent a real creator or a brand spokesperson, leveraging their image and with multilingual capability.
This functionality seeks to enrich the content creation experience on the platform, offering users more options to customize their videos and profiles.
