Roman wine amphorae were already marked, indicating the origin and the name of the person responsible for bottling, showing an interest in product data that was surely interpreted in the search for the ideal flavor.
Wine labels contain important data that informs the consumer about the type of wine or where it comes from. The oldest ones date back to the 18th century and were sober and without many details.
But over time, the need to tell stories creative enough to convince the consumer to choose your product over the competition became essential. This is when the creative process becomes more important and creating labels that tell stories becomes the new challenge.
This is the challenge that the agency John Appleman, Digital Marketing Agency, has won with the design of the Indalia wine project. And according to their team, on their website, it has been their most beloved and one of their most satisfying works.
While the label has maintained traditional values such as the elegance of the wine world, through the colors and typography chosen, it has told the story of the grape harvest, a traditional method of this winery, in a more original way.
On the label, accompanied by basic production and processing data, is the illustration of two mules and a man pulling them across the landscape of Padules, in Almería, which look like real silhouettes that transport us and make us believe it is the client themselves leading them by the hand.
