Instagram is developing a feature to label images created or altered by AI to help combat misinformation. Meta also advances chatbots with unique personalities and TikTok launches a new music streaming service.

Welcome to a new edition of Trends & News!

The week has left us with some news and rumors that we will follow very closely. Such as Instagram's decision to notify users if the post they are viewing was created with artificial intelligence. Or the new chatbot that Meta is developing, capable of adopting its own personality. We also tell you about the launch of TikTok Music or everything behind the X logo (spoiler: Elon didn't leave anything to chance).

Let's get started!

Instagram will identify images created with AI

Instagram is working on a feature capable of identifying posts created or modified with generative artificial intelligence. This was announced by developer Alessandro Paluzzi, a benchmark regarding news about new features introduced by different social networks.

Thus, if Meta detects that an image has been generated or modified with some generative AI tool (such as Midjourney), the application will identify it with a label. According to the company, the goal is to avoid the spread of fake news and the manipulation of reality.

TikTok presents its new music streaming platform

Currently, TikTok is the most popular social network among Gen Z and millennials. That is why the platform has launched TikTok Music, a new music streaming service where users will be able to listen to and share songs, create their own or collaborative playlists, and find a community that shares their same musical tastes.

For the moment, the features of TikTok Music seem similar to those of its most direct competitor, Spotify, although the company has highlighted that its differential value will be its social nature. Will it manage to position itself as a benchmark in music streaming platforms?

Meta works on creating chatbots endowed with their own personality

Can you imagine learning about the history of the United States through Abraham Lincoln himself? Or receiving coastal travel recommendations from a surfer? That is the goal of Meta, which, according to the Financial Times, is working on the development of an artificial intelligence-powered chatbot, capable of adopting different personalities to offer users answers from that perspective.

AudioCraft, Meta's new AI to create music and sounds

Meta continues to bet heavily on generative AI. Now it's the turn of AudioCraft, a new Open Source software capable of creating music and sound effects from text. This news comes after the launch of LlaMA 2, its artificial intelligence model that aims to compete with ChatGPT.

With AudioCraft, users will be able to create audio tracks through a prompt. Based on the text instructions, the tool will be able to generate sounds like those of an ambulance siren approaching and moving away, or songs in a specific musical style and with specific instruments.

Why X?

The 𝕏 logo is now visible in the app and at its headquarters in San Francisco, where it has been projected onto the building.

Controversies aside, we can tell you that there is nothing random about the choice of the logo.

⇣⇣

◼️The letter X in Elon Musk's business life

X.com was the original name of Paypal and we also find it in his company SpaceX. Now, it also replaces Twitter, which becomes X.

◼️ Style compatible with all programs

This new logo is based on a Unicode font called Blackboard Bold, which is characterized by its compatibility with all software programs.

⇢As you can see, 𝕏 is easily inserted into any text.

◼️X will be the everything app

The metamorphosis of Twitter into X continues its course and aspires to become an all-in-one platform that concentrates audio, video, messaging, and online payment functions. And of course, AI will also be the undisputed protagonist of this new direction.

Taking all this into account, what do you think of the Twitter brand rebranding?
