Hula: Art Above Water Level

Nödo · 25 may 2015
Hawaiian artist Sean Yoro, known as Hula, creates hyperrealistic murals on water-level walls using a paddleboard, blending art and environment in striking, ephemeral public artworks.
Sean Yoro, better known as Hula, is a Hawaiian artist residing in New York City. He has created these incredible murals at water level. He did them on his paddleboard, paddling to reach walls that are mostly abandoned and ruined. Before posting his murals, Sean was already acclaimed for his highly original portraits of women. In about a week, they will be available for sale through his website.
The hyper-realistic style murals are a visual game where the painted women seem as if they are emerging from the water, due to the reflection of the piece on the water. What is most impressive is the quality with which he executes them. Painting on a board, in the water, is a very complicated task. Mural art, as part of public art, cannot be ignored. Its location, the creative process, and the ephemeral nature—they could be removed or disappear at any moment—are reasons enough to share them.
Below we have found a video of the artist's creative process. Here at Nömad, Digital Marketing Agency, we always enjoy this type of content. That is why we are sharing it. Don't forget to check out his Instagram account as well as share this post if you liked it.
